a village located in Cook County, Illinois. Along with its neighbor to the
east, Harwood Heights, Norridge is completely surrounded by the city of
Chicago, leading it to it being referred to as the "Island
Within a City," now the title of a history book by local author Tom
McGowan. In 1986, Norridge was represented by their local team in the Little
League World Series, losing to Tucson, Arizona in the first round but finishing
fifth in the world overall after defeating Europe 15-2 and Canada 7-0.
