Pingree
Grove is a village located in Kane County, Illinois. At the 2000 census,
the population of the village was 124. However, due to rapid development in
recent years, population exploded to 4,532 residents in 2010, and is expected
to reach 15,000 residents as more farmland is developed into housing units. Pingree
Grove was thought at one point to be the epicenter of the 2010
Illinois Earthquake, but revised USGS data shows that the 3.8 magnitude
quake happened closer to the town of Virgil.
