Tinley Park is a
village located in Cook County, Illinois, with some small portions falling in
neighboring Will County. Originally named "Bremen" when it was
settled in the 1840s and 50s by primarily German immigrants, the development of
railroads was significant to the history of the area. It was renamed Tinley
Park after the first town railroad station agent, Samuel Tinley.
